I would say it's less a factor of luck and more contingent on how bloody inconsistent TNT is. If you are seriously trying to get something back in any capacity, tenacity and relentless attempts is your best bet. At some point you might slip through the cracks and get a different response 1 out of 20 times.

This is interesting because I've noticed that TNT has become wayyy more lenient about giving people their accounts back! A friend of mine managed to get their account back despite not having the og email.. but their guess on the birthday was close enough so Alice let them have the account back. They even emailed my friend back when they didn't reply right away, asking if they were still interested in getting their account back.

It felt like TNT was just eager to get more people back on the site. This might be making it easier for people to unfreeze old accts and get valuables off them.
