Mac leaving?

I heard Mac was leaving, is this old news or is it already being discussed somewhere? I'm afraid to say it seems like a very bad sign for the future of the website.

Yes, he posted his goodbye message in the Neocord last week and today is his last day, He posted one last goodbye message earlier today.

With that, he also introduced the new member taking over his position, Ivy, and stated he passed all his notes and our concerns over to her for her to continue to follow up on.

Yeah, Mac's position isn't being left open, and Ivy seems very similar to Mac when it comes to willingness to speak to the community and pass things along. I think things will be fine, but time will tell.

Mac was basically one of the very few TNT members who communicated with people in the Neocord. He also handled posting up the news every week and I think he was in charge of the mystery pic and a few other things for a while.

There is a Miss Rainbow who runs NC, if that is who you mean?

I cannot remember Mac's official position name, but yes, for those who did not know, they are leaving as they had a once in a lifetime opportunity to work at a nonprofit they loved. I wish them all the best. The new person (I think they it is community manager role?), Ivy, as mentioned, also said in Neocord that they will be "making the role their own" and they also have some duties in marketing... I am interested to see where this goes. Ivy is a longtime player according to the introduction given.

I do believe there was a poll posted in Neocord by a player and TNT Ivy was responding to the idea of the poll, so I do hope the poll feedback is taken in to consideration. This poll is seperate from the one TNT gave us about mobile games - it is a player made poll.

@(you need an account to see links) I think I am combining miss rainbow and… country queen? Really I don’t know; I remember someone more recently who liked country I thought. I am sad to see someone go who was actively engaged with the community.

I’m sure one of the major issues here is lack of competitive pay. No way this struggling pet site is paying well enough to retain talent. They get a little experience and move on. I would also so I get it.

Oh yes! I know who you mean now. Country Queen is a former TNT staffer who worked on the Neopian Times, and I believe she is David Lord's daughter (CEO of Jumpstart) Former TNT member Scrappy is too.

idk CEOs, especially of big corporations, frequently hire their kids, or people pull favors and hire friend's kids, or whatever, so that doesn't really raise any flags with me.
