Unexpected End of Summer Gift!

Hey everyone!
I just woke up to an unexpected gift this morning!

Recently (like 2-3 weeks ago me and my family adopted a dog. She was the skin and bones thing, super sweet and shy. Found out she had a tape worm, nbd got some meds and took care of it. She gain weight again and didn't look like a skeletal dog in a robe any more!

Well she kept gaining weight and was looking like a bowling ball, we thought she was just quickly gaining weight after having a tape worm for so long, and would balance out soon enough.

Well it turns out that NOPE

PREGNANT!

This morning she had FOUR puppies!

She and the pups are resting and doing good but I wanted to share the good with all ya'll! When she's more recovered I'll try and get some pictures to share.

It's nice to get end of summer gifts and wanted to share this with all of you as well. :3 <3

Momma's name is Hazel! I forgot to say I was excited to share. And we're thinking of naming the pups after other nuts: Walnut, Pinon, Pistachio, Peanut, Coconut, like that

Awww congrats! My dog also had a tapeworm when I adopted her, no surprise puppies though 🤣 I wish surprise puppies and mysterious stray cats inexplicably appearing in my home were events in my life lol.

We really believe that if we didn't take her in then the pups wouldn't have made it. The change she went through in a week was ASTONISHING.

Surprise puppies were a first, but we do get a random stray now and again, years ago we had a stray cat decide that our porch was the best play to have their litter. So while this is the first time with a dog, this isn't the first surprise babies we've had to deal with. Right now we're just shocked and trying to make sure everything is taken care of in the immediate future. No idea yet if we're gonna be keeping any of the pups.

Right?! We think that they (vets) didn't check 'cause she's kinda young and was a stray. Coupled with the tape worm that made her SO thin everyone just thought she wasn't old enough to have pups.
