If I can scrape together the energy for it, working out is always a huge help. I never want to go exercise when I'm stressed but it always helps a lot. I tend to ruminate badly over stuff on my mind and working out kind of forcibly severs the line and makes me stop brooding over whatever it is.
Taking my dog for a walk helps. It cheers me up to do something nice for her. Other stuff for me is throwing on my favorite grungy lounge clothes, watching Red Dwarf or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and playing a game like Diablo or Red Dead 2. Something kind of grindy and repetitive and soothing.
also, smoking a bowl and staring at my fish tank is top notch lol
