I've been "reading" House of Leaves for over 15 years. It was gifted to me by an online friend and I never got past a couple of chapters. I found it rather unsettling at the time and never quite pushed myself into finishing it. Should I give it another go?

Creepy/Horror/Spooky isn't exactly the genre of books I gravitate towards, but I did find Dreamcatcher by Stephen King pretty creepy back in the day.

    Do suspense/thriller novels count?

Special thanks to (you need an account to see links) for my adorable Ryu, and (you need an account to see links) for my galaxy pumpkin!

It's definitely worth giving it another shot, but also the style of book is definitely not for everybody, so if you're really not feeling it, then there's nothing wrong with that.

(Also definitely counts, no real rules here).

I read house of leaves in highschool and although it says "a novel" on the cover I was for some reason convinced it was totally true. It haunted me, I donated the book to goodwill when I finished it bc it creeped me out to have around, and then i stg it was on the curb in front of my school a week later and I was so freaked out. I'm sure it was just popular at the time and some other highschooler left it there who was reading it too, but I thought it was following me and I was so freaked out LOL
