So I'm not really sure if this is the right place (please move if not) but since catching up on Discord I saw your taco conversation, this always triggers many doubts in myself because I hear others saying things like 'Taco seasoning', 'Cream', 'Nacho' and my mind is trying to imagine how would those tacos be.
So I'm opening this thread for anyone who wants to share how are the Tacos you eat, if you cook how to, how are the ones that sell where you live, which are the restaurants you know of, your favorite ones, the ones you have curiosity and wanna give a try!
Let's the Taco chat begin
I'm from Mexico and was born on South where basically the language was "Bisteck Taco", "Alambre Taco", "Pastor Taco" and same with gringas (like quesadillas but with meat) (the heck I don't know how to translate that sorry lol) buuut when moving to north I discover that not only the flavor was sometimes different but also some names!!
Let me explain better.
These are my typical bisteck tacos (green sauce is always my favorite!! Not fear for spicy sauce)
Pastor Taco
Now the next ones are like bigger tacos (quesadillas)
The last picture would be called "Gringa" (Pastor and Cheese, Pastor is way redder on north). If you want bisteck and pastor would be "Campechana" and if you want only bisteck would be "Pirata".
Yeah I know, imagine my face when I say what do you have? "Tacos, gringas, campechanas, piratas" And my next comment was "Ok, now please tell what is what lol"
Oh let me present you the Alambre taco!! (like $4 USD)
Now those are the night tacos, the dinner tacos, the before bed tacos. Our mexican morning tacos are differente (yes, we have morning ones lol)
Steamed Tacos!! These ones are done very early so when you go to buy they are delivered pretty fast. They're a bit humid, tortilla is a kinda redder and fillings are so diverse (beans, smahed potatoes, ground beef, shredded beef, scrambled eggs, pork rind...)
And the south morning tacos with the always loyal rice <)

Man, all of your tacos make mine look like crap. I'm American so the only real thing I've been exposed to are the typical fake tex-mex style we eat here. There is a lovely restaurant nearby that supposedly does authentic Mexican tacos, but I'm obviously not the best judge for that type of thing.
Definitely going to get pictures the next time I grab dinner from there, though.

Oh my god, my mouth is watering. I'm hungry and seeing those delicious tacos makes me want them all.
My favourites are Al Pastor Tacos, with a los of green "avocado" sauce, a little red sauce and fried onion.

Yes! Try corn, it adds a little sweet to every bite and also the doritos or hard tortillas will give it a crunch! LOVE IT!
