Was there any logic behind what became UC and what didn't?

I really don't think so. Pets like the alien aisha and halloween shoyru would have been far better UC candidates than the UC desert poogle. It looks exactly like a converted poogle, but with pointy ears that stand up.

I feel like maybe the only person who could really shed light into this that is easily accessible would be Anthony Conley, as he's done art for Neopets for a long time and currently still does art contractually and is active in Neopets Nation. Maybe if anyone wants to reach out to him and ask... XD

thank you for doing the lord's work but damn that's a rip... guess it's all just probably very scrambled up from inconsistencies over the years and what not u_u hopefully though the redraws are well executed and the NC UCs are (eventually) released in a straightforward, non irritating manner

Well that clears the mystery, thanks for letting us know. I'm still confused about the replicas but I guess maybe that goes because it kinda existed before and new UCs would be... new?

Anyway, let's hope for the best!

I never understood why they did not release the grey Draik with its original design before conversion, especially if conversion is something they knew would be coming...



They had all the art right there and it was/is a highly popular species, however it never released... I like to imagine it would have been available as a UC had it been released before conversion, but who knows considering some of the random pets they kept versus ditched in conversion/UCs.

My only assumption is that it was pre-prepared for that year's Draik Day in September, but because conversion was in late April, it did not make the release cut prior to conversion.

That said... the converted Grey Draik was not released until April 14, 2011
