20 years! Oldest, long frozen account was made in 2002.
I was over my friend's house, and there was an advertisement for Neopets on another website she was playing.
I was curious, and she told me she played and had me make an account.

I have been playing since 2001. None of my pets are old enough to drink alcohol just yet, but several are old enough to vote. XD

My oldest account was 2003! I can't even remember what I named my pets then. I hated numbers and underscores so I know there was none of that. But I also hated capitalized letters, haha.

started in 04 as a kid who actually put in his real bday so I had to send in one of those consent forms signed by my parents so I could access the boards. Been playing on and off since with a bunch of new and different accounts, but my very first pet still survives with me to this day

Aw, that is really sweet! Not many of us have our original childhood pets. I totally forgot you needed parental consent for the game under a certain age. One of my friends was joking around on the boards about her age and got flagged by the mods. Her mom had to fax her letter in the next day when she went to work. wild!

i want to say 2004 or 2005, so 17 or 18 years now. i specifically remember my first neopets interaction being at my friends house, she was at meridell's petpet shop. i remember the blue ixi shopkeeper.
but my oldest existing accounts were made in 2006. for the years prior i would bounce from unactivated account to unactivated account because i was too young for an email address and i didnt want to bother my parents about it.
my old main account is still up even though i havent logged into it in years. one day i made a new password, promptly forgot it, and for SOME FUCKING REASON logged out. and because i opted out of getting any emails from neopets i was never able to contact them to reset it.

I actually lost the pet for a long long time, but then somehow I was able to get access to the email for that account again and was able to get him back

Omg the mods back when they actually cared lol nowadays I can say almost anything on neo and still not get flagged
