It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

I don't know about everyone else, but I am ready for summer to end. Today it was disgustingly hot and humid. So much in fact, our back porch sliding door was covered in condensation. I'm ready for cool fall weather and pumpkin everything

I feel you. I was outside today for 3ish hours in the heat and I wanted to DIE. It was wayyyyy too hot.

In my case today was a fresher day with a bit of rain which was nice, a bit of cool wind too. But I'm def waiting for the fall rain 💙

I found the coconut melona.

The mango tastes parfumey and it's not great. My list so far from best to worst is:
Banana
Coconut
Honeydew
Strawberry
Mango

Cant seem to find the purple yam but honestly it might be a good thing because I'm getting popsicled out I think lol

Can't wait for summer here, it is snowing again :') I want to work in my house again, and want to see if my plant children grow this time (they got frozen this year so had to get new sprouts, they are already growing, makes me think i should always plant them around July/August)!

It is a scorcher here yet again... it is a little frustrating because nobody else in my family "wants" (like it is an option? LOL) to eat when it is hot, and complain when the oven or other cooking methods are used. Sorry, but we need to eat!

Today I made myself a sandwich of turkey, mixed greens, mustard, bacon, and some other toppings. I used the microwave for bacon as a compromise to the oven being an issue for other meals

I think Wednesday is meant to be a little cooler - here's hoping. Next week we have a day where it is 79, then the next day it jumps right back up to 88. Not nice.

I have been craving a sandwich so often lately! I have had a few (I will try to dig up a picture of one I got from a local market the other day, it was not that exciting admittedly) but no sandwich I have had lately has quite hit the mark. Don't you hate that?!

Edit, here is the sandwich, just because I love to share pictures of food x)



They charged extra for multiple kinds of meat and I think the girl without telling me tried to save me money by 'splitting' how much meat I got... I only got 2 or so layers of turkey and 1 little measley layer of bacon x) It was alright though. Just a weird ratio of greens to meat

Iced coffee for me! Every day, rain or shine, heat wave or snow! The cooking is understandable but it does get frustrating when food is a necessity... nobody can live off of just salads and cold food for that long, at least I cannot... I love hearty meals. x)

I feel you! Lately I’ve been craving salads. Fresh vegetables and like.. broccoli. But none of the salads I’ve made have hit the spot like I hoped.
I’ve been making @(you need an account to see links) ‘S miso broccoli from a couple bake off challenges ago and it’s been the closest thing to fulfilling my broccoli craving, though.
