It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Went to buy some ice cream during lunch to beat the heat!
Always had paddlepop when I was young.
Would be nice to have a paddlepop inspired flavour for the popsicle UB!

That rainbow one looks amazing. I have never seen one of those before at any ice cream truck or corner store here!

@(you need an account to see links) I think they'll be open, this was just like Instant Gratification Monkey wanting one Right Now and tomorrow my brain might already be onto the next thing (and sort of is with the 'i want an entire ass mango right now' thing).
@(you need an account to see links) I didn't have one until relatively later in life and I think it's just a combination of them not being as common in the states plus a couple people in my household having contact allergies with the oils, so they were never around my house. But I love them!

Also seconding that a paddlepop colored popsicle bar would be so good?? I don't think I've ever seen those in the states but they look like what childhood should taste like :Q

i'm a die hard melon fan, esp honeydew. so thats usually what i get if i'm going for fruit!! i've had like, mango juice before too? but i can't remember a single instance of just cuttin up a mango and eating it. thinking emoji.

@(you need an account to see links) they're milky/creamy fruit ice cream bars! So I would say the consistency is like ice cream rather than an ice popsicle? But they quite sugary and extremely tasty, if any place around you sells them I highly recommend!
@(you need an account to see links) interestingly enough these flavors are quite common with the korean fruit milks as well (banana milk, strawberry milk, melon milk in particular) and I always thought the milk versions were literally just the melted ice cream in drink form :p

UGH they sound delicious! Next time I'm in the city I'll hunt them down, there's a few Korean supermarkets here! What flavour do you recommend?

What about dried mango? Like this one for example that is a common brand I see and buy:

Its sooo good. Fresh mango... hit or miss, I find. You either like it or you don't.

The paddlepop tastes milky/creamy which is what I like!
But as I get older, I try to stop eating because it seems like so much colouring goes into it.

The Solero has a sweet and sour taste. The texture of the lime is actually sorbet-ish rather than ice cream!

So I think globally the banana milk is the most popular, it has a mellow and sweet with a hint of that very iconic banana flavoring ? But I personally ABHOR bananas so that is off my list xD There is actually a "toffee nut" milk that isn't in this picture that I like a lot - I find it similar to the banana just... without the banana LOOOL Mind you these drinks are definitely sweet so perfect if you have a sweet tooth

They kind of taste like a bubblegum/custard flavour in the best way! Its hard to describe but highly recommend if you come Aus/UK/any country that have them!
