It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Yeesss the fruit jellies are so good I can literally kill and entire bucket (tub?) of the mango ones on my own - I actually had access to a container this weekend (was at a water park resort cabin thing for a girls trip!) and I ate so many grape ones because everyone else didn't like them and I'm like EXCUSE ME yall be trippin but eh more for me!

Also GWN I totally remember the split-share ones too! Although it was sad/funny if you got like a tiny piece when the popsicle breaks off unevenly or worse, when it loosens off the stick so much that it falls to the ground 🤣 being a kid sure is tough lol

YES! Omg I used to love slorping them up but also the surface tension of the lid with the jelly inside was so satisfying. I grew up with so many Asian neighbors who were kind enough to share their treats and now I'm having a nostalgia wave. I need jellies and pops!

Yes I remember these! It always drove me crazy that I couldn't eat one before the other was melting on my hands. We didn't get prizes for the sticks though. What kind of prizes would you get??

While I'm on this nostalgia trip did you guys ever experience the incredible disapointment/hilarity of charater pops? They always have the most incredibly fucked up face you've ever seen. I remember wanting them so bad and then when you open it you're staring into the mismatched eyes of an abomination.

THOSE. THOSE RIGHT THERE WERE MY CHILDHOOD.

Pure sugar, most of them. Maybe you'd get some cherry or lemon flavor depending on which one it was but they were amazing on a hot day. Especially if you've just dragged yourself out of the pool to chase down the ice cream truck.

GWN and Ice talking here about double stick ice cream that I paid on tribute to the floor because the stick was slippery and it couldn't hold the ice cream left xD some of those had cream inside, paradise bits!
