It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Cold rain is the absolute best to get caught in. There's times where I purposely don't hurry along to get out of it just because it feels so nice on the skin.

Oh, cold rain during the summer feels so good! Plus, since I live in Cali, it helps clean the air a bit as well and it smells so fresh the day after!
I love ASMR, so I tend to open my window at night when it rains, and it helps me fall asleep so damn fast as well!

I love cold rain when I'm indoors or have some means of steady shelter and dryness to return to and gloomy weather is honestly my favorite but a summer rain storm usually comes with thunder and lightening and if it's a nice big storm it helps with droughts so all rain is good rain but summer rain is special to me. Also it smells incredible.

I LOVE a Summer thunderstorm. There's something mystical about being able to sit outside on a balmy night and watch the lightning/thunder roll in from the coast. You're also right, the smell of rain is AMAZING.

I LOVE a Summer thunderstorm. There's something mystical about being able to sit outside on a balmy night and watch the lightning/thunder roll in from the coast. You're also right, the smell of rain is AMAZING.

I get SO excited when there's thunder and lightening. Like literally kid and Disneyland levels of excited. It's so cool and magical but also powerful and kinda scary in a reminds you you're alive kind of way. Man, what I would give for it to storm a litte right now haha.

just took a fuckin nap and woke up so sweaty i was almost sticking to my sheets.
left my window open and apparently it rained and decided to get super humid. HALPPPP I HATE THIS HEAT

I feel that, I can do dry heat no problems, but the humid sticky weather, GET FUCKED. Peeling yourself off a leather gaming chair ain't fun, especially if, like me, I prefer to go topless in my gaming room during Summer as it gets quite warm.

This^ My wife just bought a white noise speaker to have on during the night instead of the fan (as it's currently blisteringly cold in Winter here right now and fans aren't ideal). The one she got has various rain noise samples and we had it on last night. I reckon it took me all of 30 seconds to fall asleep to it.

One of my favourite parts about a thunderstorm is the calm that comes before. Things go quiet... the sky goes from a mix of dark clouds and sun, to orange and the wind starts to pick up. Then it goes grey all over, and the rain starts pouring in (no pun intended LOL) and then the thunder and lightning. It is the BEST!

bro not the sticking to the gaming chair 😭😭 i thankfully have a chair thats Not leather, but my headphones have leather earpads and the absolute pain of feeling them slide around when it gets hot.... enough 2 make me cry

Unpopular opinion? but I cannot stand petrichor - nothing against rain itself (as long as I am dry) but I hate how wet and slightly metallic the air and everything smells after it rains. It just is not pleasant at all to me.
