Y'all are celebrating in some massively awesome ways! I see mention of donating, coming out, meeting your community, top surgery, pushing boundaries - I hecking love it!

Pride began as a protest, and I feel the fight is on now as much as ever for rights, equality and acceptance, but the new generations I see coming up are gonna change the world, I swear.

This is so important to me. As I've grown older, I can see how far we've come, but also how far we have to go. Onwards and upwards. 😎

Yay! Happy Pride month everyone! Planning to go to the Pride parade (this will be the first time I go!) here to celebrate with my fellow friends from the community

Well I do have a storie about some lgtb friends I love and met many years ago online. Like 2 or 3 years ago I got their numbers and made a group (back in the past there was only messenger or mails, wow time sure flies!), so I try to check in on them from time to time. 2 years ago I finally met one of my friends and her soon-to-be wife, pandemic was alive and even if it was the first time face to face it was like "OMG COME HERE GIVE A FRIGGING HUG!!! YEAHHHH!" And then everyone like "Covid, Covid, stop hugging!!" lol

I'm so proud of her, she traveled a long way to my country and found a person who really loves her, I'm so glad she has the happiness she always deserved. This year? Guess what? i went to her wedding!! And another friend from our group joined and now I met two!!! It was an amazing night!!

Our other friends live far away on another countries but I don't lose hope to see them one day.

Points to my hubby and my friend's wife who couldn't believe we were meeting without ever seeing each other before, they we're like "you're both crazy". I mean of course we know about how actual situation is and trust and that. It's just that we have shared a friendship for about 13 years?? Woah!!

I am so happy and amazed at hearing everyone's stories of growth, change, acceptance, perseverance and PRIDE! I personally don't have any specific story on celebration similar to @(you need an account to see links) and @(you need an account to see links) however I'd did stumble across a very interesting podcast episode I found fitting to share for Pride month. I actually just finished it today.

The story is about Joe Rose and his unfortunate murder based on him appearing gay. Dark I know but the story of the work he did for the gay community in 1980s Montreal and Canada is inspiring.

This may not as big as Stonewall however in listening to this story Joe Rose at such a young age played a huge roll in the Gay and HIV/AIDs community in Canada and specifically Montreal. It was also crazy to hear that he was forgotten even amongst the members of the very club he founded (The Excetera Club). It's stories like this that need to be shared and kept in the forefront of our minds to remind us why we celebrate Pride Month!

This community has always welcomed everyone, no matter who you are out there. I can remember some in the past that joined cK because they were harassed and just not welcomed kindly in other communities, even cheating ones. Despite some being against cheating, you all still wanted to join and participate. (and thank you for giving us a chance <3)

Happy pride month everyone!!!

Nothing really big happened for me this year, but I did notice I feel more confident about saying things like "my ex" with people I'm not really close with without worrying. (In my native language there is no gender-neutral way to say it, so it's essentially outing me, just like that, in a middle of a normal conversation). I guess it means I got a little bit more confident with who I am to not think it is something that "only close friends" should know.

It's been almost a year since top surgery (they/them) and I've healed up rather nicely but I do need a minor revision which will happen later this year. I was feeling horribly dysphoric for YEARS so doing this was a huge milestone for me. I also stopped consuming a ton of sugar and started a really active job and I shed 40lbs and I'm working on shedding 20 more. I'm glad that people see me as more happier and more comfortable with my image.

This is incredible. I'm so happy you had a relatively fast/nice healing period and you're feeling better in your own skin.
Also, congratulations on the weight loss. 40lbs is not easy. What an incredible year of growth. <3
