So we've all loved that My Chemical Romance has been making a comeback the past couple years, COVID delays be damned, but until now it has not included new music. So here's their first new music since two thousand fucking fourteen!

Gonna leave it at that as to not pollute the main post with my own thoughts.

I personally am a HUGE fan of this song. It’s taking me back to their earlier days. I wasn’t a huge fan of anything post Black Parade era personally 🥸
I like everything pre 2006. So to hear this song, clearly paying homage to their roots? Absolutely FANGIRLING over here. I am so sad I have never seen them live and god it feels like at this rate I’ll never be able to.

Definitely paying homage to their roots with the line he was there the days the towers fell. I actually hadn't been paying that close attention to the lyrics until that line and it kind of snapped me in, then I relisted a couple times following along with the lyrics. I can't recall if they've referenced 9/11 since Skylines and Turnstiles? Gonna feel like a fool if I'm wrong.
I actually couldn't really decide which era it reminded me of. Personally I'm a fan of all (though I've listened to Killjoys was less than the others), and agree it's definitely not post-2006.

MCR was such a big mood. called for any occasion. Three Cheers was always on the playlist. even recently had a jam sesh (like past year lol)
but this song, the music..... it took me to a place that felt really nice. with so many things changing so fast, this felt like home a little bit.. before my life flipped upside down. lol. it's been a long 18 years, and this is the longest I've felt ok.
The lyrics are pretty deep. I'm here for it. thank you for sharing. it's a beautiful resurfacing for them.

Recently got a Three Cheers tattoo with lyrics from the song "I Never Told You What I Do For A Living". Definitely always a MCR fan. The new song is interesting. A little long, will take some getting into before I can say I love it, but I'm sure I'll get there after a few listens!

@(you need an account to see links) I totally know what you mean about it feeling homey. MCR has remained one of my staples despite a lot of stuff I listened to as a teenager fading out. It also reminds me a lot of old friends because it was the one band we could all agree on, plus some Jersey pride mixed in.

My name is a reference to them, my profile pic is Kobra kid, I have sooo much MCR merch actively in my closet right now, mostly from danger days era tho as it was my FAV, though I also have a three cheers bulletproof vest, and Ive seen them live! The show was actually delayed because Bob got a drumstick lodged into his skull at the start so they had to find a local drummer as replacement!
I even got involved in the funeral industry because of the inspiration from three cheers lol!

I gotta give this a listen! NGL, the only MCR song I know is "Black Parade" and I LOVE that song. I remember playing it for hours when I was in high school haha.
