I'm not a big contemporary country fan but I love the hell out of some old school outlaw country. I'll always have a place of reverence in my heart for Townes Van Zandt. Also a hometown hero, we're both from Fort Worth

Ironically, for as bleak as his lyrics are, I really leaned on them after my mom died. Especially a line from Rake, "every cruel day has its nightfall"

these guys are right from my neck of hometown woods as well. This song will always remind me of high school and my brother, we used to drive around town jamming out to it all the time as kids
