Beta site themes SUCK!

I haven't played much recently, but I see they now have a few themes added to the beta version of the site.

THEY ARE SO BAD

WHY IS EVERY THEME JUST A REPEATING BACKGROUND

For something that was supposed to be an upgrade they have so much less character and detail than the old ones.

I care about aesthetics a lot and always really enjoyed the themes and it pisses me off really bad lol

I know there was a way to have your own custom theme load with the old version, can this be done for the beta too? might just have to design better themes myself -_-

Think about all the site themes from old plots and events, like the LD plot, the habitarium, or treasure keepers. I hope they convert those as well, and if they do, hopefully they make them justice! I'd hate to see my precious faerie's ruin site theme ruined.

So this should still work, it's been a hot second since I've used it, but this is a Stylebot script you can use to modify the appearance of the site as a whole. You can load custom images, colors, fonts and etc into the script so your eyes don't burn.

This is an example of what the script looks like in action, with my using a custom "Bridge to Nowhere" background.



I don't know if it's quite what you're looking for, but you can edit most fonts/images with Stylebot if it bugs you.

Kind of salt in the wound they give a glance of how things used to be when navigating through unconverted pages. Genuinely miss my old plot themes.

I have been using (you need an account to see links) Clicking the top Neopets logo adds an extra step, but I haven't needed the old layout for absolutely everything.

The themes themselves don't bother me too much, and I actually think the negg festival one is pretty cute... But the lack of useful links to get to where we want to really irks me. Even before the conversion I used to type in links a lot of the times because I couldn't be bothered to click through to where I wanted, but now that I *have* to just type in links for multiple pages I use every day I find it quite annoying. :/

The point is how lazy they are, every single theme is a repeating background image with some customized navigation buttons, they have 1/10th the character of the old themes.

But yeah I agree they are also not optimal for navigation/playing the site either, which is actually inexcusable.

Most of them are ugly, lazy and have a lot of exaggerated visual information. Something that I'll miss is the rotating images in the themes bottom. They were so cute

Agreed the rotating images were a big part of the themes, if they added some more customization/imagery to the top and bring back the rotating bottom bars on the beta themes to give them some more character they wouldn't be so bad, but I doubt they will ever do that.

The new years one is neat though. It's like a dark mode for neopets. I like everything except the constant floating balloons, lmfao
