Anybody want to do Advent of Code?

For the uninitiated, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] is basically leetcode dressed up in a christmas skin. You can use any language you want and they come in a variety of difficulty. To be completely honest, with how busy the holiday season is I tend to get distracted after a few days every year, and in the past trying to do it with friends hasn't really held me accountable (they've gotten busy, too), but maybe this will be different if I try here.

This is one hundred percent no-stakes just-for-fun. You can try to solve every problem on the day of release or you can just pop in and do whichever ones when you have the time to spare. I'll probably be doing the latter! But we can still chill and discuss approaches either way.

You have to connect it with a github, twitter, google, or reddit account, so if you plan on exchanging direct links to your progress, make sure it's clraik-identity-safe!

Hopefully I'm not here all by my lonesome!

thanks stardust for base Thanks Sugarbee

If you're feeling nervous, both parts of today's puzzle was pretty easy so maybe they're going to ease into things this year. Got both my stars during a quick break from work!

Just now seeing your post! I would have been down to do the whole month... how far did you make it for 2021? A coworker showed me this site and I did the first 3 days with powershell. There's a good chance I'll get bored and go through some more of them

I ended up having a really busy day that first weekend and fell behind and kind of lost motivation. I thought about joining some coworkers under the same parent company, but I had already started as "kittyray" and felt weird having that crossover into real life, but maybe I should have done it anyway to drive me.

I did a mix of python and javascript for the ones I did, and I remember the first one I missed was some sort of matrix problem that I thought could be really fun to solve with something like processing using collision detection. I see a lot of people who use obscure languages or esolangs, so I kind of want to do more offbeat things if I circle back, or at the very least when I try next year.
