TNT Purging Expensive Items off Inactive Accounts?

I had a retired petpet mysteriously disappear from my gallery. I contacted TNT and they said they had no record of this item been on my account at all

So perhaps you are correct. They are purging items

An item worth about 30m at the time disappeared from my friends gallery in 09 and 'tnt had no record of them ever having the item' either. They never went inactive though.

Also could it be that high value items are being long term trade reversed like how ucs sometimes are? ik the common belief is that items transactions aren't tracked for more than a year or two, but this leaves me curious, especially when tnt in the past has stated they can't check which users all have a specific item.

I almost wonder if this has to do with the dupe days we had. Are items that were duped, even the original legit items being deleted? Or is this just random on their part? If I still had any shells left I'd give them a check but I either locked myself out of them or sold them all off.

Just big oof here all around. I don't like this. At all this is wrong.

I was not inactive either
Tbf I did give TNT my sob story saying this item was a gift from a friend who is no longer here sadly (true story) .
And just like that they restored the item to my account.
Made me wonder if they did remove it in the first place. Can't see why TNT would replace a 'lost' item with no proof unless they are clearly guilty of something...

I'm not going to go into details but I have an extremely strong reason to believe that there isn't a way to tell an item is a dupe unless there are long logs of trade/item history which most people I respect claim to have evidence that the kinda history needed is nonexistent at least within a year or two. As to me being confident they can't tell an item is a dupe (outside of an item history) I'm far less confident if the same applies to genned items, and dupes of genned items. Could easily go one way or the other.

Re reading the posts in this thread has just shown me that this isn't dupe related to begin with, apparently TNT is just deciding to go full ham and destroy shit with little reason.

I still log into my account every once in a while but I would be insanely pissed if TNT deleted the rare items I have on my main...how can one company be so f***ing incompetent!? TNT, I know you read these, you're useless at your jobs.
