The entire Neopets userbase waiting for pet slots to drop


To be serious, I think the hold up at this point is purely layout based. The current index page was not designed to showcase more then 7 pets, and if it's true that slots will become unlimited there's no way that page would hold up loading wise.

I think the smart thing on their end would be to take the current index page, and have that show only your current active and maybe some account stats. Then take the quick ref page and have it list all your pets in a similar fashion to how Marapets displays pets on their profile pages. It would also make sense to have pets display on user lookups the same way.

They might be trying to get user lookups and quick ref converted before pet slots drop, because I realized the other day that unless there's a cap on pet slots, lookups and quick ref currently as they are will implode.

Is it even neopets if a new feature gets released, isn't broken from the start and gets fixed 2-7 days later in a frenzy? Not being a cynic, that's just how it is every time

Step A. New feature drops
Step B. It's immediately found to be very bugged
Step C. It's fixed in 2-7 days

Steps B and C are unavoidable no matter how much prep work is done so let's just start the process sooner by proceeding with Step A

Half the fun of a new release is seeing how bad they manage to fuck up. And how many mistakes they make trying to fix said fuckup lmao.

I can't wait to see the lag the site gets hit with due to the server being over loaded and the number of people coming back.

If they do something like FV, they can allow us to have infinite(?) pets (most likely a high number like 100 or so) but choose only 5 (6 if premium) to show in our UL as it is now, and the others will remain invisible OR with less info in a side menu. and we could switch between our "active" pets as much as we want to, but always showing 5~6 only.

This is probably one of the biggest updates to the Neopets website in a long time (sans the Beta stuff happening), I really do wonder if this is going to be half baked or a proper release...

Personally I think even though this can be a huge improvement; i think its another nc cash grab.
you have to buy the slots, then if you want to move all your nc for the pets from the sides, buy box caps
and the caps probably wont be released at the same time

I think the gbcs now are the ones they are expecting people to stock up on. But personally, it isn't that many months until we'll have the black friday sale so my pets are going to have janky customs until then.

The majority literally asked for it to be a NC thing. So I think if people asked for it and then complained about it being a cash grab need to sit down and think about what they're doing. Haha
