A
BIG congratulations to everyone on another great season of the Altador Cup! While the results of our success were predictable, it was a blast to have such an amazing group playing with us again this year. Our Y9 AC group consists of only members from clraik, with the majority chatting up and supporting each other in our private forum section. We were enjoying ourselves every day while ranking up – the
dream team.
We’re looking forward to more good times ahead as the Neopets experience continues to grow and evolve, but we wanted to take a moment to directly address a few things that have transpired this time around.
It's no secret that this community provides cool and helpful tools to enhance your Neopets playing experience. We make no effort to hide that fact, and yet it never fails to get a rise out of players. This year, however, was especially upsetting to watch. It seems that many players have conflated their hatred for changes to Neopets with our measures to make that experience more enjoyable for the members of our community. The efforts these players have undertaken to go after us have made the Neopets experience worse for legitimate players and cheaters alike, and some of their antics this year have been especially disturbing. The quote “haters gonna hate” has never seemed more accurate.
So here's a message, from us to them: it's time to grow up and face facts. People cheat at games, and you can't stop them. It's not your personal responsibility to try, and your efforts to do so make you look like unhinged, whining babies. Stop focusing so hard on what you think is unfair and redirect your energy to getting what you want out of the Neopets experience. If you can't resist hating and conspiring against people for playing a fun online game differently than you, then perhaps it's time to find a different hobby.
While that doesn't stop us from wanting to enjoy Neopets together, we can and will continue to play in ways that balance our finite amounts of free time with enhancements that make the game enjoyable.
To every guest lurking: Take a cue from various other Neopets players and from communities surrounding other games: learn to enjoy the experience for what it is instead of pointing fingers everywhere you look. And if you find that you want more out of Neopets than what you've got, then you'd be welcome to sign up for clraik. We'd be glad to have you with us, and happy to help with making the game fun for you in ways that you might not have imagined! There’s a
reason we continue to grow every single year.
One last massive thank you to team clraik and our staff (including Coordinators) and for making this another successful season. GG’s all around. cK has been doing this for nearly a decade now, and here we are. Still shinin’, still climbin’.
