A lot of people have also reached their "stopping point" with island/house renovations. This especially applies to time travelers (I swear I'm not dissing, idc how people collect things /cries) and people who were doing item/villager exchanges online. Some of my friends have even restarted the game because they had nothing left to do!
The updates have been cool and fun, but I also agree with some ppl that some features should have been in the game from the start. I kinda understand Nintendo's approach, but AC's biggest draw is also its biggest weakness: You can do and become whatever you want in the game, but what happens after you've done it all?
