I'm not a furry myself, but I have friends that are. I like some of the costumes that are made! It probably takes a lot of time to make them and the ones I've seen always turn out looking really cool haha.

Does a scalie count? If so, count me in. I really like dragons/monster like dragons like in lots of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (looking at you, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon) and mechs/robots.

Not a furry and don't find any neopets characters attractive (probably because I am ace heh) but I am in a local furry group for my area as a "human" because I want to support my close friends who are furries.

In all seriousness, I’ve been involved in the furry fandom for a great number of years and I’m very open about this to others. My sona’s been a steady aussie-fox hybrid for the past decade, but for the longest time it was just a plain red fox. I have a few others and while they aren’t my fursona, they are still furry lol. An aesthetic husky, corgi barista, tsundere bunny, and maned wolf plagued with anxiety to name a few.

sure, it's not quite on the same level as sexuality and gender identity, but there are still some really nasty things said about furries online...and it's mostly harmless, and like...growing up when the internet was young and communities weren't so tight-knit, hearing those things hurt bad. so seeing support now makes me very happy <3

Furry was one of my first exposures to the lgbt community as well, there’s a great number of neurodivergent furries too! Somewhere out there’s a survey that discloses the statistics that shows a correlation with lgbt identities and an interest in furry, but it may be a little outdated now as we’ve grown again haha. There’s always a space for everyone and especially as of late furs have been actively working to make the fandom a safer environment through activism and awareness. It always hurts a little whenever people misinterpret the fandom as a whole, there’s a lot going on and it’s a significant part of my life.

same! i met my first gf through the community and my current bf is also a furry. i love that the community is trying to grow to be a safer environment, though a lot of problems are still occurring with certain topics hhh. i really hate that the bad always comes to the forefront when people discuss the fandom, because its such a safe space for me. i'm hoping to get my first suit this year if possible!

i don't participate/identify with furry stuff or have sonas (i don't wanna be perceived or involved in anything, ever lol) but i honestly love seeing the energy and passion they put into their OCs and adoptables.

also so glad to see scalie/non-mammal fans here!! Reptiles, arthropods, and fish are sorely underrepresented especially on Neopets u_u (aisha this, lupe that, i don't care!!! where's the dinosaurs!!!)
