    I'm quitting my job today!

Ahhh! Some of you know I've been interviewing for an awesome opportunity, and I got the call last week that I got the job!
Just waiting on the background check so I can turn in my notice (should be today)!

I am so excited for the new opportunity. I've been doing three people's jobs for years now. I pick up more duties every time we "right size" and layoff more people... And I learned about 6 months ago that I'm making 50-60% less than the rest of my team, which has been eating at my soul. I work 50-60 hours a week, nights, weekends, Q4 is garbage so there is no Christmas fun or break for my with the rest of my family. So why the heck does it feel like I'm dropping off a roller coaster every time I think about turning in this notice? I should be so excited, but I have SO much anxiety about this. It's killing me!

I'm hoping once I turn it in, I'll feel better. It's a great opportunity, more growth, more money. This is definitely the right choice. I just can't get these nerves to calm down!!!
Anyway. I just wanted to babble to you guys and feel better about the situation!

    Congrats!

    I'm in a similar situation.
I'm the only one tanking my section and because of Covid, there's a freeze in hiring so there's no one to help me out.
I've also had a pay cut for over a year now and I'm really thinking of looking out for other opportunities for a new start and of course a better working environment and salary (My peers are earning much more than me too).

But I feel guilty, like what happens if I leave.
This stops me from actively looking out but friends and even my colleagues have encouraged me to leave.

Well hopefully I'll stop procrastinating and start my job search!

    Congratulations on getting the job!!

Sounds like the new place can only be an improvement, because you're doing so much and get less than your colleagues? The hell?
And new beginnings cause major jitters for me too, even if they are something I've looked forward to and better my situation. I'm sure you'll feel a wave of relief once you hand in your notice, and in a year or so you'll be able to look back to today and see how far you've come.

Are you going to celebrate this evening?

Congratulations on getting the new job!

Your current place does sound horrible, so I'm glad you can finally leave for a better option!

Congratulations @(you need an account to see links) !

So glad to hear you were snatched up for the opportunity you wanted!
I hope they beg for you to stay - not that you would, but because I think it'd be nice for them to grovel a bit
