Thread: What did you have to unlearn, or are still in the process of unlearning?

    What did you have to unlearn, or are still in the process of unlearning?

    Yesterday, I stumbled upon an article enumerating things people are glad they've learned during the pandemic. In my case, nothing came to mind but stuff I had actually unlearned ,and am still actively trying to. I realized I felt a lot more pride thinking about the behaviours I've rather started to deconstruct. I was curious about what you've had to unlearn, and what it took to make you realize you wanted to undo some beliefs or habits ^-^

    I have a really bad habit of being impatient and jumping to conclusions, because i just want to get things done as quick as I can with no hassle, but in the process of doing that I realised that I end up rushing things. I'm basically teaching myself to be patient with myself and with others.

    Ahh, I feel you, patience is truly not my forte either. Though I must admit I've never really tried to work on it not feeling impatient, I just try and stop any urges to rush things. Kudos to you ^-^

    Thank youuu for sharing Nyan, I relate deeply with the self doubt and guilt-trip that being in lockdown has exacerbated. I too was trying to get into the bandwagon of "self improvement during quarantine" or "making the most of it by perfecting a skill" lmao. Like, okay fine time to undertake yet another hobby, realize I'm not instantly a pro, thinking "I knew it" only to give up right away hahah. Your last sentence hit home ^^

    @(you need an account to see links) I just read the articles you linked, and seriously, these two pieces should replace the measly 3 hour class I had on the subject. I was particularly reluctant of even mentioning the correlation between being an (immigrant) woman to the prevalence of imposter syndrome- because i thought I'd probably get shut down by certain classmates lmao. Thank you so much for the quality read ^-^
