Security Breach on MangaDex - Change your passwords!

I just got an email informing me of a security breach on MangaDex (site that lets you read manga). I use (you need an account to see links) to check if my e-mail was affected, and it was. If you didn't use a throwaway email for MangaDex, I highly suggest changing your password now before anyone has access to it! Stay safe!

Yeah, because of this breach I caved and bought 1Password since it was reccommended by the site and my family uses it. It's a bit of a pain to add over 40 accounts but I really don't want to have to end up on another breach...definitely practice safe password practices, y'all!

Also, hearing that this isn't the first time this happened to MangaDex is a bit scary. I wonder if the hacker was an actual manga licensing company, some bored guy, or a competitor that scrapes off of MangaDex/other sites..

My biggest guess is data scraping. It seems like a good target to try to grab from because of how many people wouldn't change their passwords there, it's a manga site, with nothing to actually gain from stealing accounts, so I imagine personal security from the users is very lax. Just my personal guess.
