one of the classes i teach have the students build a text-based game and some of them get very impressive, so it's seems...possible

I am also wondering that myself. I havent tried using any of the ss programs since the changeover and it wont let you use an aob over in puffin which still has flash.
I had a post about AOBing and scoresending after the death of flash but it still hasn't gone throughHopefully a mod gets to it because you have options besides puffin.

I'm pretty bad at most flash games so I've never been a regular participant in any AC event, but I'm interested in seeing how things are handled since so little of the site has been updated. The list of HTML5 flash games hasn't really been expanded, but maybe they were just putting the effort into converting the games for the upcoming event?
This year's Negg Fest was nicer than I'd thought it would be (the last Charity Corner still haunts me) so maybe this will be ok--or perhaps something entirely different.

Yeah I wonder what the death of Flash will bring about for AC this year... the current 5 HTML5 games are un-fucking-playable.
I've had success with using AoB in the Cent browser for those that are interested.
