oh, i didnt know it was something that could be changed after, i thought games like marapets that exists since 2004 have always been like that, this is great to know, but yes, unfortunatelly neo is possibly too big for that specially with their current financial resources

It's honestly not hard to change over, as long as you're careful. I'd just build the new pet table with an ID, migrate the data across and then double check everything still works...which it won't at first but you have to start somewhere! DB's are a lot easier to deal with than people think, you just need to be careful! (disclaimer: I've been working with databases for 6 years now and they've asked us to do some of the most sketchy, nerve wracking things you can do with a database...but it always ends up working!)

tysm for clearing this for me, i really had no idea about any of it, i still think it's not something neopets should focus rn, but definetly something they should put in a to do list, but unfortunatelly i doubt tnt will ever change it x.x hope i'm wrong

I agree that it shouldn't be a focus right now but if I'm honest, it should have been a focus in 2008 when they were considering ways to monetize the game people would totally pay $5-$10 for a pet name change
