What do you anticipate will happen with pet trading?

PC is going insane with RW/RN trading, boards are faster than ever, more PRDK trading is happening these days, and TNT is re-creating UCs as a solution for reversals (plus may have an option later this year to allow us to make our own??).

Values are inconsistent (RW/RN are hyped) and more UCs are in supply. But the demand seems to be keeping up? At least for now.

How are you guys interpreting the trading scene these days? What do you want to see happen?

Personally, I'm conflicted. I love that trading has picked up and it looks like the PC is more tolerant of "unknown" pets because of the list leak- those are huge pluses. But I hope we don't see a repeat of 9/9/9 draiks or something similar to massively deflate the values of pets if/when TNT allows us to make UCs. Theoretically I like the idea of "dyeworks" UCs but I worry TNT will massively fudge that up lol.

I'd love to know your thoughts!

Honestly - I think it depends.

if TNT makes UCS createable - they may also make them untradeable, much like Lutaris.

I personally like the idea of making UCs createable, because then you have people who strive for those dream pets, able to achieve them.
You'll still have traders, simply because some people love a challenge.

I think it will be a 9/9/9 draik fiasco, where (if the ucs that TNT lets you create, are able to be traded) users won't want them and they'll hold "grandfathered" ucs to a higher standard.

Either way RW/RNS are going to soar. Once you take away such an important staple of trading, I feel like the last thing that would hold value would be RW/RNS - so it'll be hard to introduce any that are illegit to the PC

I agree, I think it could be a really good thing if done right. Everyone has dream UCs they want! I do hope that TNT has the foresight to do something that limits creatable UCs in some way, like making them untradeable so the value doesn't flop. I just doubt they would, knowing TNT x)

You bring up a great point about distinguishing old vs. new UCs! 100% think the PC will latch onto that to try and preserve some sense of value.

It's funny seeing how 3/4L pets are also rising in value!

I'm gonna be the Debby-downer and say I don't see them adding the option to turn a pet UC any time soon. All the trading activity is nice but people are way overvaluing obscure RWs and short, unpronounceable petnames for something that probably won't happen the first half of this decade, if ever.

I would love to be able to turn some of my RNs into UCs but, BDchat has been begging for small BD updates since like 2014 and nada on that front.

I copped a few nice 3L/4Ls back in the day but of course I had to give them away/self freeze
I agree that we probably won't get createable UCs for awhile, but I hope it comes soon so I can feel safe to flex my UCs.

i don't know, i think people are going to crazy for something we have no idea when, of even if is going to be implemented, and when they do, i bet everyone who traded their rw will be mad so i can't see a good outcome from this situation

I get that! TNT has definitely disappointed with content and updates lately. I think in this case though we know they’re capable of recreating UCs, it’s just a matter of how they’re going to release it for everyone.

Not saying it’s right around the corner by any means. But I think we’ve started to see the effects in values already and ucs aren’t even readily recreatable yet.

I saw this as a golden opportunity to move around my higher tier UCs because people are a little less suspicious. A part of me wants to liquidate some pets because I know TNT will flub this and I want to capitalize on things while the PC's swingin', and another part of me wants to clutch what I have in the vain hope that if we're able to freely create UCs I'd have something nice for keeps.

I'd be very interested to see where trading goes if UCs are made creditable and tradable. I agree it will be a 9/9/9 Draik fiasco too, and that the creditable UCs won't be sought after the way the OG ones are, I also get the feeling it will cause more of a divide because of that, but I do really love the idea of UCs being available to us again, I could finally have a RG Lupe ;u;
