Rumour: Neopets Could Be Coming To Switch

I know this is crazy - and would probably be harder than just converting to HTML but IMAGINE:

A Neopets companion game:

The flash games ported to switch. Neo as normal, but you could play all the games on the switch!

Customisation, shops, training, battledome, dailies.

All through the switch.

Yes, the playerbase would basically just be current users, but imagine if for $30 you could have all the old flash content back on the switch AND still have Neo as normal!


I assume all of this is next to impossible with their current team size/budget/customer base/conversion/general incompetence of management

I feel like they're just focusing on too many things at once if this is also something that's genuinely being considered/worked on. I feel like they're already spread too thin as it is so I don't even know what to think about this.
Seems as though they're throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks but I'm worried nothing will stick because all their throws are half assed.

Believe me I'd love some competently made Neopets stuff, especially spin off stuff. But I'm very skeptical about this and the tv show as well.

Yeah, I have similar thoughts. Althought I feel hyped everytime I see about neopets in the news, it feels like the duck analogy. A duck can swim, walk and fly, but they are not experts in anything they do. I feel pretty excited that tnt is trying to advertise neopets, but this doesn't mean quality.

It's most likely going to be Island Builders on the Switch, I'd imagine! There was an interview posted with Jumpstart's CEO in July of last year (it's in the ck+ forum!) that did mention handheld consoles and the Switch. And seeing as that's the only non-site game they have in development right now, it makes sense!

ya, the CEO explicitly referred to Island Builders as the kind of gameplay he could see on the Switch (for ck+ers, my interview write-up is (you need an account to see links))

it's fun to see Neopets and the Switch in the same sentence but definitely keep expectations low, like britney spears' shorts low

Island Builders was so awful when I tried it, what a waste of resources and money for a game that will probably be dropped in a year or less (based on legends and letters).

If they ported Habitarium/KeyQuest to the switch I'd fucking nut though.

Oh man I'd love to see a Darkest Faerie port to the Switch! I never got to play that one as a kid and it looks pretty interesting.

funnily enough, island builders is what brought me back to neopets.com recently! sure it's a shitty resource building mobile game, but it tugged my nostalgia chain hard enough that i crawled back to my poor, dying pets lmfao

i wouldn't mind island builders switch if it's like...10 bucks and doesn't have mtx
like piffle (although that's a whopping 20-30USD full price @_@ but it runs so much better on switch than it ever did on my phone, so i got it on sale)
