Some users are being frozen after using Pale Moon

There's a few Reddit users complaining about getting frozen after playing flash games with Pale Moon browser. Here's some posts:

I got Pale Moon and an older version of Flash to work yesterday and spent my day off shooting for some trophies & game avatars—aaaand now I can't log into my account today. I checked on a side and, sure enough, I'm frozen.

I sent a support ticket in, but does anyone have experience with being frozen for winning too many trophies? I won 1 bronze trophy, 1 silver trophy, and upgraded one trophy from silver to gold. No game avatars because I still suck at games lol. Is that enough to flag Neopets' system? I remember in January I won 3 or 4 trophies and one or two top 50 game avatars with the first apparent death of Flash, and I wasn't frozen then. I'm not very good at games, and none of my scores were all that spectacular—I really only got the trophies then and now because there are so few people on the high score tables. For the one bronze trophy I won yesterday, it was literally just because less than 17 people had sent a score for that game.

I also realized that I forgot to log off on Chrome before logging in on Pale Moon—would that have gotten me frozen?

Has anyone had this experience/had luck recovering their account? It's the account I've had since childhood and it'd really break my heart to lose it over a few trophies that I played legitimately for.

Clarification: I never played multiple games simultaneously. I would always finish a game before starting a new one.

Susan H. got back to me and said my account was frozen "for using third party programs to play flash games. Some of your scores are not possible through normal game play. This is against our Terms and Conditions that you agreed to when you created the account."

I'm super confused because I only used Pale Moon and Flash, and it's really hurtful to be accused of cheating when a) I was playing legitimately and b) my scores were mediocre at best, and for every single game I remember playing yesterday, I think there are at least 10 people on the high score tables with higher scores right now. I'm not sure if all of those players will be frozen too. This is not how I imagined leaving neopets, and it's especially painful to lose my account for something I didn't even do, but yeah.

This is my exit from Neopets. I'm tired. Everything I worked hard for is now gone. I've never cheated ever. I never even got high scores enough for an avatar. Most of my trophies were in silver and bronze. The few gold were because barely anyone has played them. Susan isn't going to help me, every response I got was so vague and unproductive.

The flash apocalypse seems to have ignored me as my flash player is still working without any issues. My desktop is still using Windows XP. Is it okay for me to continue using my flash player to play neopets games ? ~~neo__rainbow

I want to know if it alright to use on classic neopets flash games thru the use of third-party flash emulators. If so, if it also safe to submit scores thru those third-party flash emulators which is also used on other flash based sites officially or this might result in account freeze? I know the staff knows what emulator I am referring to is rhyme with waffles. ~jomarcenter2012

We definitely don't recommend it anymore, as Flash support has generally been continued even if there are workarounds. ~~gutterfoot

Officially, we don’t recommend using Flash emulators to play the old games, specifically because many of them create security vulnerabilities that we can’t protect you against, and some will break the visual layout of the beta site. That said, you won’t be punished or frozen for submitting scores with a Flash workaround! (Unless any additional tampering with score manipulation is being used) ~~pinkslorg

Oh yikes, that's extremely shitty. I got a handful of easy flash game trophies last month with no problem. I didn't bother for trying this month.

Just the fact that you even have to find a workaround...and then you get frozen simply for trying to make the site work properly? Ridiculous.

Why does this team constantly backtrack on EVERYTHING they tell us? First with some of the UC stuff and now this. I'm really convinced the goal is to push people off of Neopets at this point. This is only happening because of how poorly they handled their beta transition and only have 7 damn games available to play.

After 4+ months, they really need to get it together and stop moving over site themes to beta, but actual content that we can use.

Only way I've been making neopoints is food club, I pretty much just do food club and get off... I thought was too much work use another browser or program etc.for games.

Whoa, that's actually wild. I don't feel like TNT are very consistent in what they say is okay and not okay to do on the site sometimes. It sucks the users lost their accounts, hopefully TNT are able to look past this and consider giving back their accounts
