Gif Avatar/Signature

I've been trying to put gifs on my avatar and signature lately and they won't animate for some reason. Uploading the gifs them selves or using links/tags don't work either. Size's are ok after finding smaller ones but still no luck.

I can't remember how I got my avatar to animate lol but for my signature, I put the .gif file in an image tag and it worked for me. Like this:

With the closed brackets instead of pointy ones.

I will first make the two separately. The icon as a static image and then the userbar separately. I've been making the latter using P5JS. After I import the userbar to photoshop and have it working as an animation, I expand the canvas and place the static image so it's visible on all the frames. Does that make sense?

If you have Photoshop of any kind, you can open the Timeline tool and make your animation there! To make an animated userbar over a static image, you just keep the static image constant on every layer while you change the visibility of different layers for each keyframe in your animation. Michael also has a really (you need an account to see links) that I used to see what the userbar font and format were when I made mine.

As for uploading the gif as your avatar, could it be the size of the file that's giving you trouble, @(you need an account to see links)?
