That's a good one! I think also being introduced to spelling like "faerie" vs "fairy".
I absolutely agree! Another game for me like this is Animal Crossing, where I've been able to impress my friends who fish in real life with my ridiculous ability to identify river fish (in a hobby I otherwise have 0 interest in) thanks to decades of playing.
Okay this one for sure. I know deviantart was big back then too and probably was very formative for me as well, but all the "coolest" artists that I saw were popular on Neopest for making adoptables, other Neo art, and HTML layouts and so I pushed myself to emulate them. Never got that good though but I'm glad I had that source of inspiration.

Very basic coding, back in the days of myspace I used to run a few myspace layout sites as well as Xanga layout sites that people liked and used and it could all be attributed to those days when I would fuck around on my neopets petpages.
Patience. Like. Lots of it. I went from 0 UCs to having plenty of them ranging from t1-t10 and I traded on site for all of them except three.
Worldbuilding. I used to RP on neopets back in the day and some of it was stuff like Sailor Moon or Harry Potter or whatever set in already established universes but my friends and I also RP'd our own characters (not yet represented by pets like a lot of people do now, myself included) and our own worlds and that has lead to a lot of shit like writing, drawing, dungeons & dragons, etc.
Sniping. I don't really use this in RW stuff EXCEPT for when I want something limited edition that I have to buy online. I'm really good at it and haven't missed out on dice, make up or anything I've made the attempt to get EXCEPT FOR when I was trying to get my SO a ps5.

I'm going to echo all the HTML coding that everyone's mentioned. I feel that I learned basic HTML even though I'm not that great with it, it helped me through out college and university so I felt like I had a good head start when we started learning it.
*that's rough buddy*
let's see for me that would entail:
- English writing and basic understanding (i was and am way ahead of my peers due to my addiction to neo and the english boards/guilds i was in at the time)
- basic coding
- some image "handling" using Gimp and paint
- patience
that seems to echo a lot of the above posts for sure

Coding. Writing, reading, testing, customizing/manipulating code.
Basic economics. Supply v demand, stocks, inflation, frenzies and bubbles.
Social skills. I don't know what my MSN would have been like without friends from neo, but I know for sure it would not have been the same. Met my wife through a friend from neo.

I actually learned a lot about managing other people and delegating tasks while running a big avatar lending guild.
Used those skill after I became a parent and started a playgroup, haha.
html/css has also paid off; but more for personal use than professional.

Definitely learned some coding here and there.
And from TNT, I learned what not to do when you run a company/pet site

Neopets taught me, if it exists, there is a market for it.

I think something Neopets taught me - especially as I came back from a hiatus a few years ago, as an adult - it taught me how to identify gaps in what people want and need. Or how to identify what they expect, and why they're not getting it.
For instance... there's a reason all NCCers use an outside tool (either DTI or JN) to categorize and dress up pets: because Neopets doesn't have that functionality on the scale that users grew to need.
I mean, that's the MOST basic. But it's been proven super useful in the mobile redesign, since I can see a change, then say, "Welp, people are going to complain about *that,* here's what they should do instead" - and sometimes, they figure it out themselves (Quickstock link in the new Inventory), and sometimes they don't (keeping the sidebar OPEN).
