If anything it'd be a lil html coding here and there. Basic image editing? Patience! Lol...

For me Neopets expanded my vocabulary a LOT as a child! The one I always remember was being 9 and learning what a scarab was. Or just exposure to various items that you'd only learn spending a day in the supermarket lol
Also probably not great being a child buuuut how to play poker/solitaire/slot machines

It definitely allowed me to develop my logic and problem solving skills in different ways, which I appreciate. I'm someone who is part of the school of thought regarding the benefits of video games though.

Learning how to edit images using complicated art software like MS Paint! I started out making animated buttons with guides on SunnyNeo, I think?

The basic HTML/CSS I learned from Neo's on-site HTML guide while editing petpages has taken me a long way, too (not that I ever learned to ~actually~ code, but it's just turned out helpful at unexpected times).

For sure, probably the biggest things are learning basic HTML/CSS and getting a jump start (lol) on my reading/writing skills as a wee little child. I spent SO much time as a kid on the NeoBoards back in the day, and even though it was terribly cringey, I really did get a significant amount of practice in learning how to write at that age compared to my peers. s/o to all those wolf and teens with powers rp boards

I think we can all agree that partaking in things like Neopets from a young age probably fostered a really strong sense of creativity in all of us. The older and more boomery (nostalgic? pensive?) I get, I think about who I am today and what my interests/hobbies are and how those attitudes and traits formed and I'm really thankful to have been shaped the way I have. There are a LOT less savory things I could be addicted to than dressing up colorful, imaginary pets LOL.

I probably wouldn't be in the job I'm in (software engineer) if it wasn't for my interest in reverse engineering Neopets in my early teens in order to cheat.

Well... that and learning HTML/CSS from wanting to build the best Myspace layouts.

    I'm a member of the wanted-to-make-lookups-now-i-write-code-for-a-living* crowd.

Also I got my first introduction to inflation from neopets. There's other things, but I'm blanking out right now.

Budgeting! When i started on Neo i was really young, so money still had that "Got 5$ for my birthday and now I can afford a car" vibe. Trying to save up NP to buy cheap food for my pets and also make sure they had some toys was eye opening. It taught me how to budget, plan and save up in a more practical way than just being taught in a math class.

HTML/CSS was something that I'd of likely never touched had it not been for Neo. Art as well, creating characters and wanting to draw them like the other super popular artists on there got that hobby going. Still not good at art, but thankful to Neopets for fostering the will to learn and try.

Kind of a "soft skill" but neopets taught me patience. After a number of years playing, I could start to see patterns such as the fact that holding NPs in the bank makes you lots of NP in the long run, and letting items of value sit and inflate, things that help make gains without really lifting a finger. Doing small dailies every day adds up over time. Things that were common in the past, like UCs and names during the purge years, became very sought after as years passed and were worth holding on to.

Also, TNT takes effing forever to get anything done so there's patience learned there too. XD
