Longtime player, first time posting hello

Hi I'm Gorilla! I've played Neopets since the 2000's. I really like the candor of the community here, been noticing that's harder to find in the more 'regulated' large communities offsite (and of course on people are barely allowed to say anything onsite), so I thought I would come out of lurking and say hello and introduce myself.

I just continue to love the game after so many years and joining the workforce, nothing else quite sparks my imagination like neo so here I am looking for a place to share that with others. Goodness knows I don't know anyone IRL who plays!

I confess I am a lurker of the "Under Your Skin" thread, love that place for getting my daily Neopets news, however, aiming to contribute elsewhere too as much as I can.

I agree completely, I feel like there's really no other place than here to talk openly about the game! And same, although I never fail to mention my Neo adventures to my IRL friends most of the times they're exasperated and listen to humor me, haha.

Hahaha, you're lucky! my IRL friends are all playing ~modern~ games and every time I bring up the topic of gaming I have to make excuses for not getting into whatever the latest thing is. But but but, I need time to take care of my pixels and do my dailies!

Hi @(you need an account to see links). Welcome officially to cK! I am in the same boat as you, my friends play games such as COD, NHL etc.. So no one can really relate to my Neo life and having discussion about what neo was back in the glory days! That is why this place is awesome. My husband will never understand my need to complete my dailies haha.

Welcome to ck! My IRL friends that play are actually long-distance friends. None of my actual friend group plays, but they know I do. One of those LDF told me about the UYS thread and thats why I joined too lol

I feel the same as you actually. I went through a period of total zero imagination/creativity in my life with university and work, etc etc, and now that I've come back to Neo (and found CK of course... though writing this sounds like I'm advertising a cult) I feel so much more imaginative than I have in years!

The UYS is probably one of my favourite things on this site because I love how everyone here tells it like it is without the TNT worship seen in other places. Hope to see you around!

TNT worship is exactly what it is! Shaking my head. I think when people aren't able to say what they think, eventually they stop trying to say it and disappear. I hope neo can survive this transitional year as they change the layout.

Wouldn't it be great to go back to the early 2000's neo days? Haha.
I used to participate in that thread a bit, but I found it made me feel too frustrated/negative so I'm branching out to other parts of the forum. It depends what you mean by contribute I suppose but I recommend looking into the bake off and ryugotchi threads

Oh man, I was longing so much for the 2000's that I read the entire Donna AMA on the Neopets Reddit today. It really brought me back! </3 (And also brought some peace knowing how we got to where we are today.)
I've seen the Ryugotchis while lurking and it looks to be right up my alley! I will check that out, looks like I need to help take care of some to start.
(I don't cook much due to lack of time but the bake-off userbar looks so cute! *considers*)
