Apparently, the OG creators teamed up to make some new, fresh content for the world of ATLA! I'm really excited about this, I'm secretly hoping for a Kyoshi spin-off (I know there's a book, but seeing it animated would be AMAZING). The original series is a big part of my life, I'm dying for some more good content ('cause we all know how the movie turned out and how the live action adaptation seems to be going in that same direction).

I know the original creators separated from the Netflix live action adaptation that's in development, so excited to see more coming from them. I honestly never read any of the comics (I read summaries of some because I wanted to know what happened to Zuko's mom), but I kept meaning to.

The last I heard about Avatar stuff was as kitty said, Bryke cutting off from the Netflix show, which was quite sad to hear about but this gets my fire going!! I love Avatar and Korra so much, and am hungry for more content. I wish I had time/energy to delve into the comics and all the side stories - maybe one day!

in terms of TLA, I've watched through the seasons 3 times but never watched the movie and briefly touched on the first season of legend of korra. did i miss anything in between?

Korra is definitely worth watching all the way through.

The comics I don't know much about other than what happened Zuko's mom and canon queer Kyoshi.

Yeah I feel like Korra gets a bad rep for being quite different from Avatar but it's really just as great as long as you're watching it with the understanding that despite being part of the same world, it is very much its own thing.

Exactly I never understood all the complaints. The characters were unique all over, if they had kept the same characteristics it would have been a copy and paste no?

I'm actually huge fan of Korra tbh! I like how different it was. But Avatar was OG, I look forward to the new stuff.

Honestly, this is the single most exciting thing I'm going to hear in 2021. I am a huge fan of the Avatar-verse, and I love both TLA and TLOK. Korra is underrated as heck and I absolutely love the themes that are explored in that show. It struggled from production issues which made it feel more stilted than Airbender, but overall I actually felt that Korra told much more personal stories than TLA.

Also, I know its been like 15 years, but Zutara for life. I'm okay with Cloudbabies and I don't hate canon, I'm just sad about what could have been.
