What was your original Neopets goal?

So, in those halcyon days of early Neopia what were your goals?

For me - I really, really wanted a Pet Rock. I would obsess over the trading post, earn a piddly few thousand np playing Meerca Chase, and then cry for a bit.

Getting rich, which turned into becoming a top avatar collector... and then collecting trophies!

In the end, it became collecting most things (avatars, trophies, retired items, stamps, cards).

I had one single ambition: fire. lupe.

I literally dreamed a few times that I was able to turn ((redacted)) into a fiery lupe. This was back in 2001 - 2002 Neo so paint brushes were obscenely hard to come by. I remember thinking I was a bad ass for painting them Christmas because hey, it was a color besides their OG green. I ended up painting them via the Rainbow Pool when Neo was doing a promotion, sign your parents up for a shit ton of spam with their sponsors and get a dip in the Pool lmao. ((Redacted)) isn't fire anymore--too hard to customize--but I sometimes think about painting them it again just for the nostalgia.

I never really had one
Used to just fuck around and get frozen so I never had much attachment to accounts, I liked playing games and being on the boards.

After coming back my goal was to grind on habi and make as many nps as I could

For me it was trying to earn the Avatar Collector avatar and obtaining a Royal Paint Brush to paint myself a RG Aisha. For kid me that was pretty much impossible but I sure tried my best. The Aisha goal got much harder after conversion happened and never thought I'd own an UC one.
But then I found cK and now I've got both my Aisha and the avatar

I was an avatar collector despite being a bit abysmally poor at games so I never got too far. I also wanted a specific plushie pet when I was a kid, and I prayed and prayed for a ffq, which never came until late last year lmao.

As a real little kid I just wanted painted pets. I specifically remember wanting a starry PB on like day one and being crestfallen at the prices. I eventually got the lab ray but I was kind of weird about it. I mixed between zapping my own pets and zapping pound pets to repound once they got a cool color. I always seemed to get the really cool stuff on those ones, but I never let myself keep them. At the same time, when I was browsing for the next one to adopt, I'd lose my shit over a BN snow pet and then that one I would keep.

Later, I also collected avatars, but I was bad at most games and I couldn't make money well enough for stamps. This statement is still true to this day, but I collect more things and I'm slightly less bad at making money now.

Same. back in my day if all your pets were painted, it meant you were .. what's that word.. Leet? 1337? So I just wanted to be able to say all my pets were painted.
When I found CK I realized I could also have a cool profile with a million trophies like the other "gods" of Neo. Which is funny because I always thought they were just good at games. Looking back now I wonder how many were cheating. I didnt even know cheating was a thing until I found this site.

I don't remember my year 5 1999 goals. I don't think I really had specific ones; it was just a place to play games. Since then it was definitely more the Pokemon mindset (I wanna be the very best), collecting avatars, trophies, stamps etc.

I was always content with my VBN Christmas Zafara, he was like...level 20 and I thought he was so special and strong! I think as a child I loved Faerie Ixis, but knew I could never have one so it wasn't really a goal. I don't think I ever had more than 50K NPs.
