I suspect this is because of the "must have original email" nonsense and due to COPPA they wouldn't have been able to store that, as far as I'm concerned. I would say be polite, maybe ask for clarification to see if that's the case, ask what else you can do to prove ownership, et cetera. That's such a nonsense and frustrating situation to be in. I hope you're able to make headway.I'm sorry I can't be more help (and that you're in this to begin with).
Someone had the same issue on Reddit (you need an account to see links). Seems like @(you need an account to see links) is onto something about the original email. I know support can be pretty tough on people without their original email, but it also seems like it depends on how they're feeling that day unfortunately. I hope you can get your account back!

If they still have customer service available your parents might be able to call and provide information to recover their account (or you, but I know I recently tried to recover my AOL account and my mom had to get on the phone because she'd been the primary account holder, or something).
Oh God. I mean, it's worth a shot. I suspect this is one of those email servers that just vanished. I'm trying to get into an old hotmail that I'm pretty sure I used when I was a kid, but idk... Thank you for your advice TT__TT
