Looks like Kittyray beat me to it. Yes your Luck can go down even after maxing out. So to ensure you stay on the same evolutionary line make sure your Ryu and the Ryus of others are cared for to keep that luck full

It's such a beautiful scene! Definitely my favorite. If you want to be particularly sure you can try to keep track of your luck starting around 18 days after you last changed (the earliest you can evolve is 20 days, so it gives you some buffer), I find running through the list once a day is reliable to keep it up.

Right?! That one is from the Deer line but it is soooo incredibly pretty. I've been using it a lot since I got it.
