You'll jump branches regularly when you take care of your Ryu in a natural manner. Before I settled on having a baby drake permanently, I was hopping branches a good number of times once my evolution time came around. Alternatively, you could try trading for a certain branch that you want that doesn't involve neglecting your Ryu.

Your apologies seem insincere when you keep tacking on speeches and sob stories to absolve yourself. You could've just replied with "my bad" and left it at that, @(you need an account to see links). Instead, you turned a simple situation into an unnecessary lecture about holding everybody accountable for your specific misbehavior. I wonder if there might be some confusion between stars and hearts?

I know i mentioned earlier in the thread that you can still look after your Ryu and your stars may still be under 5 (which in my understanding means a Ryu is more likely to jump branch but not definitively - you can't effectively force a branch change). Stars are related both to the care you take of your own Ryu and the care you take of others.

For example, I take care of my Ryu daily but my stars are currently under 5 because I haven't had time to take care of as many other forum Ryu as I usually do.

When I had more time to take care of both my own and forum Ryu I was consistently at 5 stars. It seems to be a combo of your own and others that gets the best star rating.

I can also say that I and pretty sure I got species changes while I was at 5 stars and I stayed the same while i was under 5 stars so there aren't guarantees, and mistreating your Ryu won't make it evolve sooner, it will still take the full monthish cycle. There are also so many species of Ryu it really is the luck of the draw how long it might take to get the one you want, but there are special backgrounds and paints that come from owning different Ryu so it's always worth caring for the one you've got.

I can see where there may have been some misunderstanding that neglecting a Ryu got a quicker evolution or forced a species change when discussing how lower stars can make it more likely and perhaps people not being clear on why stars get lowered and thinking it requires a lack of care. Maybe it would be helpful to have this info in the first post?

There is also an exchange thread where you can try to swap for the species you want (though in my experience swapping a lizard for a bunny can be a hard sell)!

Part of the fun of Ryu is caring for them and seeing what you get. I love this unique little part of the forum and hope this can help all our Ryu live long and happy lives.

My fish evolved into a bird and I’m sad it swapped branches because I really wanted that underwater bg. May was a crazy month though so I didn’t get a chance to properly care for moo. Oh well maybe next time!!

I'm sorry that happened. if I knew, I would've traded you my bg before Flounder evolved and could have gotten it again (if that's how that works). win win. fingers crossed for another fish or a bg trade in the future for you and Moo.
