i got a ryu! so excited to see what my egg brings me, tonight i really took a look at a lot of user's different ryus and i did not realize there are so many different types! cannot wait

Both! Ryu will change every 20-30 days, how they change depends on two things: how much luck you have and where you're at in a branch.

There are several (I think eight at the time of writing) branches, with three steps each. If you are at the first or second stage, you will move onto the next one, given you have enough luck, the more luck you have, the more likely you are to stay on branch. You can get a sense of your luck in editprofile, represented by the number of stars filled.

Now, if you're luck isn't high enough or if you're already at the last stage of a branch, you'll end up branch hopping to the first stage of a different branch, so it looks like one of thsoe was your situation.

My Ryu evolved for the first time! Just from drake to wyrm, but i love this snaky fellow. I noticed that upon evolving, he went from 5 luck to 3.5, is that something that happens when they evolve? Or did I just lose luck the normal way? : P

When you evolve your star points decrease. Just get out there an scoop poops. It will jump right back up to 5 stars in no time
