Another Sci-Fi you may have watched in movie form (or already read!) but I found The Martian's audiobook reading to be very nice and I usually don't listen to audiobooks!

Oh, I love that one! It's in pretty regular rotation for me! I feel like epistolary-type novels can work really well for audiobooks.

Honestly it's super well done! I listened to it while gymming, but started Paradise Lost after that... super boring lol don't know what I was thinking, which ended my gym going sessions for good...

Broken Horses: A Memoir by Brandi Carlile has been my book lately... we listened to it on a car ride this weekend and it's great! She sprinkles some music in there too which is great, it's a wonderful listen.

I loved Chris Patton narrating Beastly by Alex Finn. Since he's an anime voice actor, he did a fantastic job of reading it!

i actually only started listening to audiobooks this year when i did my eye correction surgery. i laid in bed pretty much the whole day.

tbh i have not much in my repertoire. i only listened to harry potter, and it was narrated by Stephen Fry. i thought it was pretty good, considering all the various voices he did for various characters. felt like i was really watching a movie.
other than that, i listened mainly to podcasts.

For driving, sometimes I like popping on the harry potter audiobooks because it's a series I know pretty well but I'd still like some entertainment for long drives. It's helpful to listen to harry potter because it is familiar enough where I won't get confused if I focus on driving and listen in and out as opposed to a new book series where everything is new. I like to have things be familiar when I do stuff like driving or chores for less need to pay attention.

If you like Game of Thrones lore, I find GRRM's writing so difficult to read at times. But audiobook-wise, I listened to Fire & Blood (the whole lineage/storyline of the Targaryans, where House of the Dragon falls about midway through) and found it so engaging! The narrator helped for sure because he had a great voice, but I don't think I'll ever engage with GoT books on any platform except audiobook again.

thank you Lyrichord for the amazing avatar!

idk if you're into fantasy but branden sanderson's mistborn trilogy is great. the narrator is really good imo. its super long for each book so its more bang for your buck credit wise. it's more of a serious fantasy. cool magic system with a heist-y feel in book 1 and then more epic fantasy battles and politicking and mystery in the 2/3rd books

if you have a lot of credits then i highly recommend the cradle series! its not as quality writing as sanderson, but its a real anime feel. basically, if you like animes like naruto, i think you'd like this series. its more light hearted, the audiobook narrator is amazing, and theres fun cool magic fights lol.
