...but I don't want this. What is the point of this? Does it add extra security?.. It just feels like an extra step when logging on to my sides.

Also, homepage getting a rework. Your bets on what % the nc mall adds are gonna take?

It's gonna prevent newer accounts from being hacked so easily. And active mains will be safer. I'm all for this. I plan on using the security questions.

security questions should be implemented as an automated way to reset your password in an easy way without people that don't know you being able to do the reset.
that's the theory i'd say but i'm hesitant to believe it really does add extra security. shouldn't pose a problem to logging in accounts in general though or at least that's how it's most often implemented (and the only way i've ever experienced).

In my opinion it's not really adding that much extra security though but i could be wrong.

Yeah this is ridiculous! I can't count how many accounts I've lost to a forgotten birthday and now this. x'D Oh boy!

Mixed feelings. I feel like a lot of security questions are useless because they're either too specific to be applicable (make and model of my first car is "not applicable") or too vague to have a straightforward answer (how/where my parents met is a doozy) or information that's easy to find (mother's maiden name/childhood street/et cetera. That saidI know a lot of people advise just treating these like additional passwords and using things like YcK;w7r2Cg(U'#gH anyway.

I wonder if they'll try to make the cute and neopetsy like "what species was your first neopet".

Also right now security questions are on my shit list because of an ongoing account access issue I've been having related to not remembering the exact way I phrased an answer 20+ years ago despite having every other bit of personally identifiable information, and I feel like neopets account recovery can be rough enough as it is if they go this route.

I fear them making cutesy neo related ones because people will straight up tell you "my first pet was a blue aisha!" or my favorite paint brush is plushie

Oh they absolutely will, they already won't return a neopets account if you can't list the exact geographical location that you created it in 14 years ago, or won't provide full paypal receipts for every purchase you have ever made in your life so they can comb through it for Neopets-related purchases.
