Also omg I just had a thought... I wonder if it's possible to group all ryus in existence into like, generations??? Like I can't help but think of all these new ryus as the AC generation or something XD

I'm pretty new to ryu and trying to sort out how the paint buckets to give my ryu a cool color scheme work/are obtained. Would anyone be able to explain them to me? I can't find it in any guides. Sorry if I'm overlooking something.

Yes there is! In the very first post of this thread if you scroll down a bit there's a section called Customization time and there are a few sections inside spoiler tags that you can expand to see how to unlock backgrounds and such.
