Random wild speculation time: I wonder if the contest bars are unlocked by interacting with the creator's own Ryu a certain amount of times? Could explain why no one has unlocked any yet since with so many forum members actively babysitting there's probably not a lot of opportunity to interact with one specific Ryu super often.
