I thought the same and checked the thread. I noticed that only those people who drew their own ryus received the background. I think the only exception to that is Dita, but I don't quite remember.

Yeah, Dita was the big wrench in my observation, too, but also it doesn't seem sustainable for them to be manually awarded, anyway.
