[Guide] How to unlock and care for a Ryugotchi + Ryu Master List (inc. non-actives)

So just came online to do a little feeding before bed and I am delighted to see an evolved Ryu with the Lava Lakeside bg.

This immediately (IMO) shuts down the theory of feeding in the AM. I’m almost confident this is either
a) one of the bgs in the series where you are randomly awarded one .. like where it rolls for you which one you get.. idk how to describe this someone help!
b) it could be awarded when you have a certain amount of luck upon evolution


I’m leaning towards the first theory!

I also got this background with this same evolution so I’m wondering if the 2 are connected? Idk if it’s this branch specifically or maybe just evolving your pet in general gives it? Congrats though!!!

I feel like somebody else recently got it with evolution so maybe it's evolution + some other requirement. That's the only one I don't have that I still really want (sorry cavernous and cactus one). Yeah, I was skeptical about it being time-related, just because I felt like I had tried a lot of early-morning hours.

Congrats on the new lava background! I am still holding out for the Tiki one.

Today I woke up and came to check on my leggy boi and now instead have a cat. My hearrtttt ;.;
Time to turn off evolutions for a while and enjoy this. Oh gosh, art. Art time? Art time.
Ugh, I have a black cat irl and seeing the little Ryu black cat on here my brain goes �Hey! Thats your cat!� So now im scared to evolve because it�ll feel like im replacing her with something. STOP BEING EMOTIONAL, BRAIN.

Still wondering about the requirements for some backgrounds as well. I know they are random, but a 1 in 4 once requirements are met..
Its been so long though that im wondering what the requirements could be. Hmm.

I think number of interactions of some kind. i know i've been interacting far less with the parent list myself as i have less time available and suspect that's why i haven't unlocked additional ones of those randoms :o

Ooo thats a really good point! I've also pulled way back on going through this list lately. The last month or so I've not touched it and just focused on my own unless checking on the babysitting thread. Hmm. Interesting indeed.

Just went throughbthe parent list and cleaned up and topped up everyone I could. Lots of people have eggs but sadly lots of dead Ryus.RIP

Just went through the whole list and there were so so many sad little Ryus :c
The good news is that everyone that can be taken care of is back to full hearts! That felt like it took ages to get everyone healthy again!

Didn't see anyone with the newer backgrounds either, like Dot Muncher or Tiki Totem, still wondering how we will ever figure those out! :p

I'm still trying to get the Dotmuncher one, I've been exclusively playing with my Ryu rather than feeding for months now to no avail. There's probably something else to it...
