clraik has been hit with a Ryu virus, maybe a Ryurona?! And it looks like we have a ryudemic on our hands! You may have noticed your pixelated buddy has been feeling a bit under the weather.
We have set up the 🏥 Ryu Health Center 🏥 in order to provide you with more information but also as a place for our sick Ryus to be identified and convalesce. Here we can nurse and provide them with the needed care and attention for their recovery. In saying this, if you are entering the Ryu Health Center and are not infected you are running the risk of becoming infected yourself. ☣️You have been warned!☣️
In order to help provide care to our sickly Ryus we have set up emergency tents and collected them below in order for the community to provide all the love, cuddles and chicken noodle soup they need. Once we get things under control we hope to have a more permanent set up.
When you become infected please post here! If you see another Ryu that is infected and not admitted to the Ryu Health Center please post about them here so we can keep our census up to date.
3) The virus is so contagious that it does not need direct contact to be made, it can be spread by being in the same area as an infected user.

Infection isn't tied to who's pressing your Ryugotchi's buttons. You don't need to be touched to catch something from somebody. The same is true with Ryugotchis.

4) To get better your Ryu needs rest as well as love from the community. This means that any visitors your Ryu had have gone home to stay safe.

5) If you have Ryu visitor perks when your Ryu becomes sick it's visitor will leave. However, if your Ryu is sleeping the visitor may return! Also those with visitors when sleeping may have a little extra love to help them heal up!

The concept was too cute to pass up. I've reverted back the change that I made to stop sick Ryugotchi from sleeping with visitors, and I've added a condition to the in-game clock that has a chance of healing either visitor faster when they're sick.
6) Your Ryu can get better on, it's own but heals faster with help. HOWEVER! Just because you are healed, doesn't mean you are immune! You CAN get sick again!

8) When your Ryu becomes infected you can choose to isolate them by putting them into their stack. They will still recover. It may take longer however since they till not receive care from the community.

The recovery clock is an absolute time, but the in-game clock has to tick in order to clear status effects. The in-game clock is suspended when your Ryugotchi is put away, which means a tick would have to occur for your visuals to be updated, but the contagiousness period will still be measured from the recovery clock.
9) As of 28 Jan 2024 you can now look after sleeping ryus that are sick of you are friends with the Ryu owner! Yay!

It is up to us as a community to get our sick Ryus healthy and keep our healthy Ryus infection free! This means providing care by feeding and playing with our infected Ryus to get them better. For our healthy Ryu population you have the option to isolate in the settings home and stay out of the stack, or avoid threads that may have infected Ryus on them. Hopefully as time goes on we can move our Ryus from infected status to cured!
Typically viruses need hosts in which to incubate, make the host contagious and then spread onto more hosts and continue to multiply. To keep your Ryu safe you could isolate and have them stay at home by removing them from your stack. In doing so in theory you should be able to explore clraik without worry about spreading more Ryuvirus or catching another strain. This is great if you want to "do your part" but also help other Ryus without fear of getting sick yourself. To test this theory....yes test...it is not confirmed....the idea is to create a Ryu Rescue Crew 🚑 full of clraik members who are going to isolate their Ryus and help the infected.
If you wish to join you will need to do a couple of things:
1) Go to your settings and tuck your Ryu bar away out of your stack.
2) Alert me that you want to join the crew. 🚑
3) Start caring for those sick Ryus!
There is new userbar out there related to this outbreak! It appears to be related to healing Ryus. When interacting with a sick Ryu they may give a heart reaction. This shows that they are now cured.
After healing at least 3 Ryus you unlock this lovelt bar! So get out there with cuddles, soup and scoop dat poop! Nurse mode activate!💞

Were also low but didn't seem sick, which is weird.. Shinx's was also asleep and I was able to wake them up to feed them (I thought this wasn't possible so just wanted to report)
