I would really appreciate any help or guidance. I honestly don't know where to even start here
I did come up with the answer of 0.9hrs which just doesn't seem right to me o_O
Hi, I tried out your problem sum! Disclaimer: I'm not that good at math either, so it would be great if you could cross check with someone else too!
I got 0.899h as well (3 significant figures).
I think this question is similar to the last example.
Cleaning house uses 12kJ kg-1 h-1.
Your fat consumed is 1295kJ. (I'm assuming that you calculated your fat consumed correctly!)
Your weight is 120kg.
So 12kJ kg-1 h-1 * 120kg * unknown number of hours = 1295kJ
Unknown number of hours = 1295kJ / (12kJ kg-1 h-1 * 120 kg) = 0.899 h
The kJ on the numerator cancels the kJ on the denominator. the kg-1 on the denominator cancels the kg in the denominator. Since h-1 is in the denominator, you end up with h as the final unit because (h-1)-1 = h.
i've just also taken a look at it (and used to be quite good at maths though i'm not really involved with it that much anymore these days)
i also come up with the same answer as @(you need an account to see links) and very similar to the one you yourself calculated (0.899 hours).
Keep in mind that it should be 0.899 hours as 3 significant numbers have been asked in the question
