Same. Part of the reason I've never gotten back into pokemon is that there's just Too Much to get a grasp on now.

When I was young, two of my good friends were in a very grisly wreck driving to a slumber party at my house. No one was seriously hurt, but their pickup flipped and ended up upside down. I was just getting my permit at the time and I think that incident scarred me a bit. I'm SO careful when I drive. I've never been in an accident myself, knock on wood, either causing it or as a victim so I consider myself super lucky.

Knocked on some wood for you. That's awful to hear. Thankful for one being hurt but a scarring and scary moment for anyone involved or affected. I'm sorry your friends went through that, and for you to hear about it during a delicate time. I have no doubt you're careful, and no question either. Maybe I posted more of a vent. A scared vent.

How often do you find yourself looking up which type overtakes which?

My jump back into Pokemon was with Pokemon X which wasn't a terrible place to start after having not played since the Gameboy era. Or if you have a Switch, the Let's Go games are modern remakes of the original Red/Blue/Yellow and only have some of the new changes layered in which makes it pretty user friendly in my opinion. You only have to learn a couple of new aspects like natures and abilities instead of also throwing in mega evolution, z-moves, dynamix etc at you all at once.

Like.. even if the only difference were the number of pokemon, I feel like that would be too much for my wee brain. I mean it is if I'm going of Pokemon Go, which I still enjoy (or did before lockdown), it's just like... i look at my pokedex like "who are you people".

Thank you for clarifying. I have a question, if we earn the green clraik userbar, do we still keep the newbie one? Can we wear the newbie one instead even if we have the green one?

Nope, you can only use your current rank userbar. The "newbie" bar disappears from your collection.

Likewise when you go from clraik to official clraik, the clraik neon green bar disappears and is replaced by the official clraik bar, etc.

I've only ever played one Pok�mon game (I think it was one of the mystery dungeon ones on DS?) but I love seeing all the evolutions! Does anyone have any advice about where to start for someone who has pretty much no idea about the franchise/games?
