Anyone else concerned that 95% of neopets won't be converted in time for flash discontinuation?

You’d be surprise how many computer systems run in things that support is discontinued for. I’m sure neopets won’t be the only site on the internet who will have issues like this. There will likely be work around a and ways to continue using sites that you have used in the past.

im definitely not too confident in their ability to convert the entire site to the level that it would need to be upgraded too. At the same time, we don’t know what they are working on behind the scenes. Maybe they have more done than we think they do and next year will be an interesting change for the site.

I'm worried about how broken the site might get. I know they're trying though.

I'm not really worried - like what most people have said, most of their pages run on html without flash anyway, and it's not as though the majority of the database doesn't use hotlinks to access pages. (eg. we don't go to explore -> world map -> location -> activity, but we go straight to the url of the activity).

Yeah much if the site that revolves around flash (games, especially, and some dailies) will not be available anymore but think about all the other shit that we lost along the way like macromedia flash player games and life ones. (though we do still access them through old browsers that support them). So it's never really a lost cause. You can probably still access flash using supported-browsers to play your games and get your trophies.

Not worried about the IT-factor, but in terms of Neo and TNT's reputation, definitely. If a company is slow and not kept up with the times, the playerbase will slowly dwindle as time goes by. Nostalgia can only hold people through certain levels of inconvenience. :\

I am just worried that customization still needs a lot of work. At the moment, it does not seem like even the new items are making into the new site yet. Having people's real life money spent on nc items that are not customizable (old and new) will deter nc mall spending which is a might result in a huge loss of profits that could have some downstream effects.

I'm so used to them that it would be hard to get around the site and do stuff without them

This is actually a major concern of mine as well.
I've gotten so used to a few other them, using a new browser or my kiddo's account is exceedingly jarring.

That's the one thing that I want to see. Will the site continue to be the same after they've finished the immense task of converting or will they finally update it and add something new? TNT uses flash as an excuse for everything that goes wrong so what happens when it's not an issue anymore?
